Before hiring The Scout Group, some of our clients neglected their home maintenance schedules because the process seemed overly complicated or they didn’t know where to start. The Scout Group provides our clients with a comprehensive Maintenance Action Plan, executed by an experienced, vetted team of specialists. This plan is custom tailored to meet your needs, whether it’s for the smallest tasks (changing air filters) to the largest (construction management). This attention to maintenance care enables potential problems to be detected and prevented. The Scout Group provides you peace of mind, knowing that your home is being properly maintained and that your investment is well protected.
Real estate assets comprise a significant portion of an investor’s portfolio. The Scout Group provides Annual Home Maintenance Services which help protect your investment. We provide our clients with a customized Maintenance Action Plan which includes a prescribed list of scheduled maintenance services. This Maintenance Action Plan prevents potential problems from occurring, maximizes energy efficiency and protects your investment whether you are at home or away.

Routine HVAC maintenance is the best way to prevent an expensive heating and cooling emergency. To ensure your heating and cooling systems are operating safely and with optimum efficiency, The Scout Group recommends our Biannual HVAC Maintenance Service. Paint does more than improve the appearance of your home; it also forms a protective barrier between your home and the exterior elements. Coastal homes require additional care because of the taxing climate – salt air, blowing sand and/or mold and mildew. The Scout Group can assist homeowners in choosing the best paint for their applications, including exterior paints that contain moldicide, designed specifically for coastal applications. Additionally, fresh paint is a quick and easy way to update your home, adding instant value.
The Lowcountry climate makes every exterior surface susceptible to mold and mildew. Besides being unsightly, mold and mildew attract more dirt and can cause a loss of adhesion to the surface, resulting in failures such as cracking, blistering and flaking of paint. Additionally, exposed unfinished wood surfaces provide the nutrients for mildew (cellulose and resin) which can result in damage and weakening of the wood. Once yearly Pressure Washing is the first step to protecting your home and is an easy way to enhance the appearance of your home. Additionally, window cleaning improves the freshness of your home, both inside and out.
Many homeowners have chosen the Charleston area for its mild semi-tropical climate. The warm winter climate, however, sometimes lulls homeowners into a false sense of security, resulting in a failure to adequately prepare their homes for periodic freezing winter temperatures. The damage and expense resulting from frozen irrigation systems and burst pipes can be avoided with The Scout Group’s Winterization Services.
For the six-month storm season running from June 1st thru November 30th many absentee homeowners cross their fingers and hope for the best. When a storm forms and begins to gain momentum, however, suddenly an absentee homeowner’s mind is filled with questions and concerns.
The Scout Group provides Pre-Storm Preparation Services to ease the minds of Absentee Homeowners. Upon enrollment into the annual plan, a member of The Scout Group will assess your property for potential hazards and work with the homeowner to compile a customized plan of action for your home in the event of a major storm. The Scout Group will track potential storm systems and communicate with the homeowner regarding the necessity and timing of implementation of the Pre-Storm Preparation Services.
In the event that a major storm hits, The Scout Group has the documentation to gain first access to provide prioritized Post-Storm Assessment Services. Whether your home is on a barrier island or South of Broad, a member of The Scout Group will respond rapidly and will provide the homeowner with a written report, photo, and video documentation of your home’s condition. In the event that damage has occurred, a member of The Scout Group will be available to coordinate any inspections required by the homeowner’s insurance company.
